Proleague Introduction

 
"Proleague, the Representative e-Sports brand of Korea"
   
    Proleague is the combined team match league which was established in 2005 with the founding of the 2nd term
  Korea e-Sports Association, which was before then, held separately by Ongamenet Proleagues starting in March 2003   and MBC Game Team Leagues. Beginning with the 2003 'KTF EVER Cup Ongamenet Proleague and after the 2003
  'Neowiz Pmang Cup Proleague' they launched the SKY Proleague 2004, which was held for the longest time period
  throughout domestic e-Sport history for 11 months, it succeeded in settling down into a stable team match league,
  and later on in 2005, held the combined team match league, 'SKY Proleague 2005,' in 2006 held the 'SKY Proleague
  2006' and in 2007 made a 5 billion KRW sponsorship contract with Shinhan Bank for 3 years, Establishing the Shinhan
  Bank Proleagues and settling down as the best e-Sports league in Korea.
    The Grand Finals of 'SKY Proleague 2004 1R' was the first success that showed that e-Sports was moving from
  individual leagues to the Proleague. In the Finals of this competitions, which was held in Gwangalli Busan, 100
  thousand spectators(Estimated by the police) gathered up, and made the e-Sports associates very surprised, and
  later on in the 'SKY Proleague 2005 Former League' 120 thousand spectators gathered up, attracting the attention
  of major media and foreign newspapers. In 2006 it joined hands with the Germany World Cup and appealed to the
  general public through a special stage which was set up in front of the City Hall, showing the potentials of e-Sports,
  and in 2007, it introduced the term of broadcasting rights to the Proleague, contributing to the activation and expansion
  of added value of e-Sports as digital contents, and furnished a new ground as expansion of e-Sports broadcasting
  channels.
    In 2009, in the Proleague 12 teams including the Air Force Team which was established in 2007 are participating,
  and all the teams are pro-game teams with the support of enterprises, fulfilling the wants of e-Sports fans through
  the best performance through the stable support and operation. The methods of the league are held in regular leagues
  which are divided into former and latter leagues, Post Seasons, and Combined Championships, processing for 10
  months a year, and for 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) matches are being broadcasted live through Cable Game
  Channels, Ground Wave and Satellite Based DMB, Portal Sites, Internet TV, IP TV, VOD and Mobile Phones. Also, by
  constructing the Yongsan e-Sports Stadium, an exclusive stadium for e-Sports, it made it possible to watch matches
  in a wide and refreshing area, provides various offline events and services and plays its role as a participating
  e-Sports by leading the cheering culture with the players.
